Are you a community group looking for financial or in-kind support?

Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB) recognises the vital contributions individuals and community organisations make to the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the areas in which we operate.

That’s why GAWB offers opportunities for community investment funding and in-kind support, with applications now open for community groups and individuals.

Gladstone Area Water Board CEO Darren Barlow said GAWB is proud to support grassroots and community-led initiatives, as well as larger, industry and corporate-led events.

“Our community investment program is open all year around, and now is the perfect time to approach GAWB for your initiative later in 2024 or even 2025”, Mr Barlow said.

“GAWB’s community investment program covers a mix of bigger events, including our support of the largest environmentally focused festival in Central Queensland, Ecofest, and smaller, but no less important initiatives, such as our sponsorship of a team of enthusiastic Calliope State High School students who participated in the Hydrogen Grand Prix this year.

“It is a pleasure to support initiatives which deliver long-lasting benefits to the region and encourage an active lifestyle, such as our recent support of the Boyne Valley 50 Trail Run, where participants raced along the rail trail – which includes GAWB”s Four Mile Scrub to Boynedale Bush Camp Rail Trail section,” said Mr Barlow.

Community investment can be in-kind support, or a financial contribution for community-led initiatives or individual pursuits which meet eligibility requirements.

It could also be a donation (financial or in-kind) for charitable causes or the hire of our community assets, such as the GAWB hydration station, marquee or water coolers.
