Sixteen long serving employees have been recognised by Gladstone Area Water Board (GAWB), with acknowledgment each had played a part in GAWB’s success over many years.
Starting at five years of service and working up to 35 years, each employee was thanked by GAWB Chief Executive Officer Darren Barlow.
“GAWB has operated for 51 years, from small beginnings with just ten employees, we now have an agile workforce of more than 100 people delivering for customers”, said Mr Barlow.
“Every day, the team is focused on working together to deliver bulk water services, safely and reliably, and whether a team member makes sure water is flowing through the pipes, or is keeping our digital infrastructure safe from cyber-attacks, or is maintaining our excellent recreational facilities at Lake Awoonga, each person plays a big part in our success.
“We recently had the opportunity to thank a large group of employees who have made long-term commitments to working at GAWB, including our Maintenance Planner who celebrated ten years on the job, Mark Ruthenberg.
“Mark is responsible for the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities to ensure our network of pipes and infrastructure are kept well-maintained and at optimal efficiency, ready to safely and reliably deliver water to our customers.
“GAWB has an incredible culture of working together, safely, and I’m delighted we were able to recognise these individuals for their contribution.”
Established in 1973, GAWB is an intrinsic part of the Gladstone region – our people not only work in the region, they also call it home.
